The Nashville Predators may be over 20 points lower in the standings than the Chicago Blackhawks, but they were able to outplay their Central division foes the last time they faced each other. The Preds ended up with the 2-0 win on goalie Pekka Rinne's first shutout of the season and moved to 3-1 in the season series against the Blackhawks.

In that last matchup, the Predators got their first goal on Mike Fisher's 18th of the season. It came with just over a minute left to go in the period off of assists from Ryan Ellis and Mattias Ekholm.

The second goal was scored by Gabriel Bourque with less than three minutes to go in the second period. Calle Jarnkrok got the pass to Bourque, who was able to get his shot up and over goalie Corey Crawford's shoulder to make it 2-0.

The Preds were able to pull off the win despite being outshot 29-17 on the night.

Rinne had a lot to do to get the 31st shutout of his career, but he was able to stop all 29 of the Blackhawks' shots. The 31-year-old netminder had been dealing with injuries all season, but he looked like the goalie who twice was a finalist for the Vezina Trophy in this one.

Crawford only allowed two shots to get into his net, but he didn't have a good night. He only made 15 saves in the game for an .882 save percentage.
