On Tuesday night, the Chicago Blackhawks will be facing the Montreal Canadiens in a game between two of the best penalty kills in the league. The Blackhawks and the Canadiens each had one win in their two-game regular season series last year.

On Sunday, the Blackhawks lost their second game in a row when they were shut out 1-0 by the Winnipeg Jets. They lost that game despite outshooting the Jets 33-27 and outhitting them 33-27.

The Blackhawks are near the top of the league in goals through 12 games this season. Their top offensive player has been center Jonathan Toews, who has four goals and four assists. Left wing Brandon Saad leads the team with six assists, and goalie Corey Crawford has a 3-2-1 record with a 1.78 GAA and a .926 save percentage.

Canadiens lost their second straight game on Sunday when they were blown out by the Calgary Flames 6-2 on home ice. They weren't able to get their offense going in that loss, finishing with just 20 shots on goal.

The Canadiens have scored 2.6 goals per game this season while giving up 2.9 goals per game. Center Tomas Plekanec and left wing Max Pacioretty each have five goals and four assists through Montreal's first 12 games. Veteran netminder Carey Price is 7-2-1 on the year with a 2.74 GAA and a .913 save percentage.
