In Game 5 of the Western Conference semifinals on Sunday night, the Chicago Blackhawks were able to take a 3-2 series lead by beating the Minnesota Wild 2-1 at home. It was a pretty even game throughout the contest, with both teams getting 28 of their shots on goal and only going on a combined three power plays.

The Wild played very well in the first period and got their reward when rookie left wing Erik Haula was able to score his third goal of the playoffs. The Blackhawks would answer midway through the second period, though, when their left wing Bryan Bickell scored a power-play goal off of assists by Patrick Kane and Patrick Sharp.

Jonathan Toews put in the eventual game-winning goal for the Blackhawks four and a half minute into the third period. It was the All-Star center's fifth goal of the playoffs and it came when he rebounded a Marian Hossa shot and got his shot past Wild goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov.

Patrick Sharp had two assists for the Blackhawks in the win, while goalie Corey Crawford finished with a .964 save percentage after stopping 27 of the 28 shots he faced.

Ilya Bryzgalov may have taken the loss for the Wild, but he had a good night in net for the visitors. He made 26 saves and ended up with a .929 save percentage.
