The Chicago Blackhawks were able to maintain their home ice advantage by beating the Minnesota Wild 4-1 to take a 2-0 lead in their second round series. The Blackhawks had one of their most complete games of the playoffs so far by committing just one penalty in the game and holding the Wild to only 19 shots on goal.

Jonathan Toews scored his fourth goal of the playoffs 11 minutes into the first period to put the Blackhawks up 1-0. No goals were scored for over 28 minutes, but Chicago would double its lead with a minute remaining in the second period through a Brandon Saad tally.

Cody McCormick picked up his first goal of the playoffs two minutes into the third period to get the Wild back to within one. Their comeback attempt was shut down late in the game, though, when Bryan Bickell scored his fifth of the playoffs to put Chicago back up by two. Brandon Saad scored an empty net goal with less than a minute and a half remaining to give the hosts the 4-1 win.

Bickell finished with a goal and two assists for the Blackhawks, while Marian Hossa contributed three assists in the win. Netminder Corey Crawford had 18 saves for the hosts.

Ilya Bryzgalov had yet another poor showing in net for the Wild by stopping just 18 of the 21 shots he faced.
