The Los Angeles Kings were down multiple times early in their Game 3 matchup with the Chicago Blackhawks, but they were able to come back and win 4-3 to take a 2-1 lead in the Western Conference Finals. The Kings outshot the Blackhawks 32-27 in the game and were able to keep Chicago from converting any of their four power play opportunities.

Jonathan Toews scored his seventh goal of the postseason five minutes into the first period to give the Blackhawks an early 1-0 lead. The Kings were able to tie it up less than a minute later when Slava Voynov scored a power-play goal off of assists by Jeff Carter and Drew Doughty. Toews would put Chicago back on top, though, when he scored his second of the game at the 13:19 mark of the period.

Jeff Carter was able to tie the game back up when he converted his eighth goal of the playoffs eight minutes into the second period. Six minutes later, the Kings took their first lead of the game when Tyler Toffoli beat Blackhawks goalie Corey Crawford.

Defenseman Drew Doughty made it 4-2 Kings midway through the third period with his third goal of the playoffs. Patrick Sharp would get one back for Chicago late in the third, but it was too late to make a comeback.

Kings goalie Jonathan Quick had 24 saves in the win, while Crawford stopped just 28 of the Kings' 32 shots.
