Chicago is only 2-2 since returning from the Olympic break but when they've posted victories it's been in dominant fashion. They look to continue the offensive onslaught when they take on the NHL's worst team in the Buffalo Sabres.
Chicago's offense was firing on all cylinders in Thursday night's 6-1 victory over Columbus. That was coming on the heels of a 5-1 win over Pittsburgh on Saturday night at snowy Soldier Field. Jonathan Toews scored 4 of those 11 goals and looks to continue that trend against the surprisingly surging Sabres.
Buffalo is 3-1 since trading Ryan Miller and going with Jhonas Enroth as the full time goaltender. They've been a bettor's delight by covering the goal spread in 6 straight games. Even more impressive is the fact that the Sabres 3 wins of their last 4 came against playoff teams in Boston, San Jose, and Tampa Bay. Buffalo would love nothing more than to add Chicago to that list Sunday night at the First Niagara Center.
The teams have met once this year, a 2-1 Blackhawk victory in Chicago on October 12th. The loss was one of 7 to start the season for the Sabres. Chicago bettors were able to cash in on the massive -244 moneyline while the total went well below the posted 5.5. Ben Smith and Patrick Kane were able to tally goals for the Blackhawks while Drew Stafford netted one for the Sabres. We'll see if the new look Sabres can withstand the Chicago assault this time around.
