On Thursday, the Chicago Blackhawks will try to win their eighth consecutive game when they visit the Boston Bruins. The Blackhawks and the Bruins played each other twice last season, with both teams able to pick up a home win.
The Blackhawks won their fifth road game in a row on Tuesday when they beat the New Jersey Devils 3-2 in the shootout. They were certainly the more aggressive offense in that game, outshooting the Devils 39-24.
Through their first 28 games, the Blackhawks have one of the best defenses in the league by giving up just two goals per game. Unsurprisingly, right wing Patrick Kane has been their best offensive player by scoring a team-high 12 goals and providing 14 assists to his teammates.
Last Saturday, the Bruins were able to snap their three-game losing skid when they beat the Arizona Coyotes 5-2 on the road. Left wing Brad Marchand earned the top star in that game by scoring two of his team's five goals.
The Bruins haven't found their offensive stride yet this season, but their defense has done well to hold their opponents to just 2.6 goals per game. Center Patrice Bergeron has scored five goals this season and currently leads the team in assists with 14. Goaltender Tuukka Rask has a 12-8-1 record with one shutout, a 2.56 GAA and a .912 save percentage.
