On Tuesday night, the Carolina Hurricanes will visit the Winnipeg Jets in a game between two teams very desperate for wins. These two teams played each other twice last year with both picking up one win.

The Hurricanes gave up a third period goal to the New York Rangers on Thursday and ended up losing 2-1 in the shootout. They were 0-for-3 on the power play in that loss, but Anton Khudobin was excellent in net by stopping 33 of the 34 shots he faced.

Through four games, Hurricanes left wing Chris Terry has three goals and leads the team with a plus/minus of plus-4. Jiri Tlusty also has three goals and shares the team-lead in points with four. Goaltender Cam Ward is 0-1-1 in his two starts this season with a .846 save percentage and a 3.88 GAA.

On Sunday, the Jets lost their fourth game in a row when they were beaten 4-1 by the Calgary Flames on the road. They scored just one goal on 35 shots in that game and they were 0-for-2 on their power play opportunities.

The Jets have only scored 1.8 goals per game through five games, but they do still have a perfect penalty kill percentage. Right wing Blake Wheeler has two goals on the season and he leads the Jets in points with four. Goalie Ondrej Pavelec has made five starts for Winnipeg and is 1-3-0 with a 2.61 GAA and a .906 save percentage.
