The Carolina Hurricanes will be playing in the final game of their three-game road trip on Saturday night when they face the Tampa Bay Lightning. During the 2013-14 season, the Lightning were able to win all three of their games against the Hurricanes.

On Tuesday, the Hurricanes were able to snap their two-game losing skid when they beat the New Jersey Devils 2-1 in the shootout. They outshot the Devils 33-19 and held them goalless on their three power play opportunities.

The Hurricanes currently have one of the worst offenses in the NHL by only scoring two goals per game. In 24 games this season, defenseman Justin Faulk leads the team in points with 20 by notching six goals and 14 assists.

The Lightning snapped their two-game losing streak by defeating the Pittsburgh Penguins 4-3 at home on Tuesday. Center Tyler Johnson was the star of the show for them in that win, scoring three of their four goals. Left wing Jiri Tlusty currently leads Tampa Bay in goals with 10.

Through 36 games this season, the Lightning are second in the NHL in scoring by averaging 3.2 goals per game. Center Tyler Johnson has had a great start to the year by scoring 13 goals and providing 24 assists to his teammates. Big goalie Ben Bishop has won 16 of his starts this season and has one shutout with a .913 save percentage.
