In the last matchup between the Carolina Hurricanes and the Pittsburgh Penguins, the Penguins were able to edge out a 4-3 overtime road win. Neither team could hold a lead in this one, which made it made it very entertaining to watch for the neutral hockey fan.

The first goal of the game was scored by Carolina's Andrej Sekera with a backhand shot that made it to the back of the net with just two seconds remaining on the clock. Sidney Crosby got the Penguins right back into it, though, by scoring his 21st goal of the season just 16 seconds into the second period. Just 14 seconds later, the Hurricanes retook the lead when Nathan Gerbe was able to beat Marc-Andre Fleury.

The third period continued the back-and-forth trend of the game, with the Penguins' Chris Conner tying the game up two minutes into the period. Pittsburgh would then take the lead later in the period through Deryk Engelland's third of the season, but Drayson Bowman answered a few minutes later to tie it up again. James Neal would score the winner one minute into overtime to give the top team in the Eastern Conference yet another win.

Neal finished the game with a goal and two assists, while Fleury would end up having another solid game with 31 saves on 34 shots on goal.
