On Tuesday night, the Carolina Hurricanes will be going on the road to face the New Jersey Devils, who have lost two out of their last three home games. In their first game against each other this year, the Devils were able to defeat the Hurricanes 2-1 on the road.

The Hurricanes couldn’t get their offense going in their game against the Washington Capitals on Saturday and were shut out 4-0 at home. They were goalless on their three power play opportunities and only ended up with 21 shots on goal.

So far this season, the Devils are near the bottom of the league in scoring with just 2.1 goals per game. Veteran winger Jaromir Jagr has five goals this season and is tied for the team points lead with 20. Starting goalie Cory Schneider is now 11-16-3 on the year with two shutouts, a .915 save percentage and a 2.57 GAA.

On Sunday, the Hurricanes lost their second consecutive games when the New York Rangers shut them out 1-0 on the road. Carolina only had one power play opportunity in that loss and were outshot 31-18 by the Rangers.

Through 33 games, the Hurricanes have one of the worst offenses in the NHL by averaging right around two goals per game. Defenseman Justin Faulk has been Carolina's top offensive player this year by notching six goals and 14 assists.
