On Tuesday night, the Carolina Hurricanes will try to snap their three-game losing streak when they visit the Dallas Stars. Last season, the Hurricanes and the Stars each picked up one win in their two-game regular season series.

The Hurricanes took plenty of shots in their game against the San Jose Sharks on Sunday, but they still ended up being shut out 2-0 on their home ice. They were 0-for-2 in the power play in that loss and they missed all 45 of their shots on goal.

Defenseman Justin Faulk has scored two goals and he leads the team with nine assists.

On Sunday, Dallas gave up four goals in the third period of their game against the Chicago Blackhawks and ended up taking a 6-2 loss. They were the more physical team in that game, but they were also outshot 47-24.

The Stars are near the bottom of the league in goals against by giving up 3.3 goals per game. Their top offensive threat has been center Tyler Seguin, who has 12 goals and 22 points through 18 games. Goalie Kari Lehtonen is 6-5-4 with a shutout and a 2.90 GAA.
