On Saturday, the Calgary Flames will be squaring off against the Vancouver Canucks in game between two struggling defenses.

In their first game against each other this season, the Canucks were able to defeat the Flames 4-2 on Calgary. Vancouver center Henrik Sedin had a good game in that one, scoring one of his team's four goals and assisting on another.

Flames goaltender Jonas Hiller has an 11-6-3 record against the Canucks in his career with a .903 save percentage and a 3.01 GAA. Veteran center Curtis Glencross has accumulated 14 points in his 35 games against Vancouver, while defenseman Mark Giordano has three goals and 16 assists against them in 38 career games.

The struggling Canucks lost for the fifth game in a row on Wednesday night when the Dallas Stars shut them out 2-0 in Vancouver. The Canucks were very poor on the power play in that loss, going 0-for-4 with the extra man.

Through their first 31 games this season, the Canucks have one of the best penalty killing units in the league by stopping opposing power plays 86.4 percent of the time. Center Henrik Sedin has six goals so far this year and currently leads the team in assists with 20. Ryan Miller has been one of the best goalies in the league by going 16-7-0 with a 2.69 GAA and a .916 save percentage.
