The Toronto Maple Leafs were able to continue their hot start to the season when they last played the Calgary Flames by beating them 4-2. It was the first time in nearly 12 years that the Maple Leafs had won a game in Calgary and, more importantly to them, it was their third win in a row.

Joffrey Lupul got the Maple Leafs on top in the first period, scoring nearly eight minutes into the game off of a pass from Jake Gardiner. James van Riemsdyk would score a shorthanded goal with just four seconds left in the period to make it 2-0.

Matt Stajan got the Flames back into the game with his first goal of the season with about three minutes left in the period. Mason Raymond got the lead back up to two in favor of Toronto early in the third, but the Flames' David Jones would make it 3-2 with about five minutes left in the game. The Maple Leafs were forced into a 6-on-4 situation late into the period, but Paul Ranger was able to get the shorthanded goal to get the win for the road team.

Toronto's offense did well in the game, but their hero was definitely goalie Jonathan Bernier. Bernier was able to stop 41 of the 43 shots he faced for a superb .953 save percentage and the win.
