The Calgary Flames will be hoping to get a bit more from their penalty kill on Tuesday night when they take on the Nashville Predators. During the 2013-14 season, the Predators were able to win two of their three games against the Flames.

On Saturday night, the Flames only put 24 shots on net against the St. Louis Blues and ended up losing 4-1 on the road. They didn't take advantage of their power-play opportunities, scoring on just one of their six chances in the game.

Through their first three games, the Flames are 28th in the NHL when it comes to killing penalties with a 54.5 PK percentage. Center Joe Colborne leads the team in points with four, while left wing Mason Raymond has three goals already. Goaltender Jonas Hiller is 0-2-0 with a .901 save percentage, and Karri Ramo won his only start and has a .950 save percentage.

Nashville moved to 2-0-0 on the season by beating the Dallas Stars 4-1 at home on Saturday. The Predators had just nine penalty minutes in the win and they outshot the Stars 33-18.

The Predators are eighth in NHL in goals per game (3.5) right now and fourth in the league in goals against (1.5). Goalie Pekka Rinne has been solid through two games and now has a .921 save percentage. Center Paul Gaustad has a goal and three assists through two games, while left wing Eric Nystrom has two goals and two assists.
