On Sunday night, the Calgary Flames will be squaring off against the Chicago Blackhawks in a game that will feature two of the top scoring teams in the Western Conference.
The Blackhawks and the Flames have already played each other twice this season, with both teams picking up a road win. In their last meeting, Chicago was able to pull off a 4-3 victory in Calgary thanks to a late Patrick Kane goal.
In his 27 career games against the Flames, Kane has been able to notch 16 goals and 15 assists. Veteran winger Marian Hossa has eight goals and 14 assists in 30 games against Calgary, while goaltender Corey Crawford has gone 4-2-3 against them, with no shutouts, an .895 save percentage and a 2.67 GAA.
On Friday night, the Flames lost their fourth consecutive game when the Pittsburgh Penguins beat them 3-1 on the road. Their power play struggled in that game, finishing with no goals from their five chances with the extra man.
The Flames have had one of the better offenses in the league this season, averaging right around three goals per game. Defenseman Mark Giordano has been their top all-around player by scoring eight goals and assisting on 22 more. Starting goalie Jonas Hiller has gone 9-8-1 in his 18 games with one shutout, a 2.50 GAA and a .912 save percentage.
