Wednesday night, the Calgary Flames will travel to the Windy City to take on the Chicago Blackhawks.

The Calgary Flames will take the ice after having played the Nashville Predators on Tuesday night.  To play a night game in Nashville and then have to travel to Chicago for a game on the following night could take some of the wind out of the sails for Calgary. It will be tough for the Flames but they are not the only team that has had play back to back so early in the season. Other teams have made the adjustments after back to back games and Calgary will just have to make the adjustments needed to give their best effort against the Blackhawks.   Because Calgary will need to muster as much as they can if they want to beat Chicago.  

The Chicago Blackhawks will be well rested and ready to take advantage of a possibly tired Calgary team.  The Blackhawks last played on Saturday and they were impressive in that game.  Chicago remained unbeaten after scoring 4 goals in the 3rd period and torching the Buffalo Sabres 6 – 2.  After Chicago saw their 2 – 0 lead evaporate in the 1st period, they responded with those 4 3rd period goals.  If the Blackhawks decide to open this game with another offensive explosion, the Flames might be in trouble early on.  And that might make it easy for the Blackhawks to go to 3 - 0.
