Saturday afternoon, the Buffalo Sabres will be at the SAP Center to take on the San Jose Sharks.

The Buffalo Sabres didn’t fare too well in their Thursday night meeting against the Los Angeles Kings.  The defending Stanly Cup Champions didn’t encounter much resistance from the Sabres as they beat Buffalo 2 - 0.  The scoring woes continued yet again for the Sabres as they failed to capitalize on any of the 3 power play opportunities that they had.  Buffalo is now 0 for 27 on the power play. If they can’t find a way to start getting the puck in the net, this will be a long season in Buffalo.   The Sabres should be able to pick up their scoring against a San Jose team that has given up a lot of goal in recent games.

The San Jose Sharks got edged out 5 - 4 in the closing seconds of their Thursday night game against the Columbus Blue Jackets.  San Jose started out strong and opened up a 2 - 0 lead after the 1st period.  But Columbus overpowered them in the 2nd and put up 3 goals to take a 3 -2 lead into the final period.  The scoring really opened up in the 3rd as the Sharks rode 2 more goals to a 4 -3 lead. The blue Jackets responded with 2 late goals, including the game winner at 19:39 in the 3rd to seal the victory.  San Jose has allowed 10 goals in their last 2 games.   Their best hope is that they can get past a Buffalo team that has scored just 1 goal in their last 4 games.
