The struggling Buffalo Sabres will be big underdogs when they go on the road to face the Pittsburgh Penguins on Saturday night. The Penguins beat the Sabres in all three of their matchups a season ago.

The Sabres gave up their lead late in the third period in their game against the Boston Bruins on Thursday and ended up losing 3-2 in overtime. They were 1-for-2 on their power play opportunities, but they were also outshot 37-15 in that loss.

The Sabres have one of the lowest-scoring teams in the NHL and they have also given up over three goals per game. Right wing Drew Stafford has five assists and a team-high six points through 11 games, but he also has a plus/minus of -8. Goaltender Jhonas Enroth has a 1-5-1 record with a 3.11 GAA and a .915 save percentage.

On Thursday, the Penguins were able to win their third straight game when they shut out the Los Angeles Kings 3-0 on home ice. They scored twice on the power play in that game and held the Kings scoreless on their four power play chances.

The Penguins have scored four goals per game this season and they have the top power play in the league. Center Evgeni Malkin has had a good start to the season, scoring four goals and assisting on eight others. Goalie Marc-Andre Fleury is 6-2-0 with a .926 save percentage.
