On Monday, the Buffalo Sabres will be visiting the Ottawa Senators in a game that will feature two struggling offenses. In their first meeting this season, the Sabres were able to defeat the Senators 5-4 in the shootout.

The Sabres used a three-goal third period to come back and beat the New York Islanders 4-3 in the shootout on Saturday night. They won that game despite going 0-for-3 on the power play and being outshot 36-26.

Through 36 games this year, the Sabres have one of the lowest scoring offenses in the league and have scored on less than 10 percent of their power plays. Right wing Drew Stafford has five goals and 14 assists this season, but he has a very poor plus/minus of -13. Goalie Jhonas Enroth is now 11-11-2 on the year with a .912 save percentage and a 3.04 GAA.

On Saturday night, the Senators lost their third consecutive game when the Detroit Red Wings came back and beat them 3-2 in overtime. Their power play was poor in that loss, failing to score on all five of their chances with the extra man.

The Senators are in the bottom half of the league in scoring this season by averaging right around 2.5 goals per game. Their best player has been defenseman Erik Karlsson, who has seven goals and 16 assists on the year.
