The Buffalo Sabres will try to fix their offensive problems when they go up against the stingy defense of the Los Angeles Kings on Thursday night.

Last season, the Sabres and the Kings played each other twice with both picking up an away win. The Kings won their first matchup 2-0, and the Sabres won the second by beating Los Angeles 3-2 in the shootout.

Sabres defenseman Christian Ehrhoff has four goals, eight assists and a plus/minus of +5 in his 36 career games against the Kings. Right wing Drew Stafford has three goals and two assists in his six games against them. Goaltender Jhonas Enroth has faced the Kings just once in his career and took the loss despite saving 26 of the 28 shots he faced.

On Sunday, the Kings won their fourth game in a row when they defeated the Minnesota Wild 2-1 on home ice. They won despite being outshot 41-16 in that game, but they did keep the Wild scoreless on their five power play chances.

Kings left wing Tanner Pearson has been impressive so far this season, scoring five goals and assisting on two others in the team's first five games. Center Tyler Toffoli has three goals and he leads the team with four assists. Netminder Jonathan Quick has a 3-1-1 record in five starts with a 1.86 GAA and a .951 save percentage.
