The Boston Bruins will be visiting the San Jose Sharks on Thursday night in a game between two teams that have struggled to score goals this season. In their first game against each other this year, the Bruins were able to defeat the Sharks 5-3 at home.

In their game against the Los Angeles Kings on Tuesday night, the Bruins couldn't get their offense going and were shut out 2-0. They had now power play opportunities in that loss and were outshot 35-31 by the Kings.

The Bruins have only been able to average 2.3 goals per game this year while giving up 2.4 goals per game. Through 26 games, center Carl Soderberg has been able to score five goals and he currently leads the team in points with 17. Veteran goalie Tuukka Rask has an 11-7-1 record this year with a .918 save percentage and a 2.35 GAA.

The Sharks won their second game in a row on Tuesday when they edged the Philadelphia Flyers 2-1 at home. Netminder Antti Niemi was their best player in that game by stopping 28 of the Kings' 29 shots on goal.

Through 26 games, the Sharks have one of the better power plays in the NHL by scoring on 23.5 percent of their chances with the extra man. Center Logan Couture has had a good start to the year by notching 10 goals and 12 assists.
