The Boston Bruins, who have lost five of their six December games, will be heading out on the road to face the Nashville Predators on Tuesday night. Last year, the Bruins were able to win both of their games against the Preds.

The Bruins have now lost five of their last six games after taking a 3-2 loss in the shootout to the Ottawa Senators on Saturday. Boston lost despite putting 31 of their shots on goal and winning 50 of the 68 faceoffs in the game.

Through their first 30 games this season, the Bruins have only scored 2.5 goals per game while allowing 2.6 goals per game to their opponents. Veteran center Patrice Bergeron has five goals so far this year and has a team-best 20 points. Goaltender Tuukka Rask has won 12 of his 23 starts this season and has a 2.55 GAA.

On Saturday night, the Predators had their two-game winning streak come to an end when they were shut out 2-0 by the San Jose Sharks on the road. They were 0-for-3 on the power play in that loss and ended up being outshot 34-29.

The Predators currently have the lowest goals against average in the league by giving up just 1.9 goals per game to their opponents. Veteran netminder Pekka Rinne has won 19 of his 26 starts this season and has three shutouts, a 1.75 GAA and a .937 save percentage.
