The Boston Bruins were two goals down in the third period in Game 2 of their series against the Montreal Canadiens, but they were able to finish the game with four straight goals to tie the series at one win apiece. Boston outshot the Canadiens 35-28 in the game despite giving Montreal six power play opportunities.
Boston was able to score first when Daniel Paille put in his first goal of the playoffs 13 minutes into the first period. The next goal wouldn't come until one minute into the second period, when Montreal's Mike Weaver tied it up. The Canadiens would take the lead late in the second when Thomas Vanek converted a power play chance.
In the third period, the Canadiens would go up 3-1 after Vanek scored his second of the game, but then the Bruins found their stride. Dougie Hamilton and Patrice Bergeron scored midway through the period to tie the game, then Reilly Smith and Milan Lucic killed the game off in the latter stages of the third.
Bergeron finished with a goal and an assist in the win, while left wing Brad Marchand ended up two assists for Boston. Tuukka Rask didn't have his best night in net for the Bruins, but he did make some big saves and finished with 25 on the night.
Montreal goalie Carey Price could only save 30 of the 34 shots he faced for an .882 save percentage.
