Thursday night, the Boston Bruins will take on the Montreal Canadiens.

The Boston Bruins will be coming into Montreal’s Bell Centre after playing the Detroit Red Wings in Detroit Wednesday night.  The travel distance isn’t that long but back to back road games are always tough on the bodies and minds of a hockey team.  The Bruins will need to shake off any fatigue and focus on the task of beating the Canadiens.   The Canadiens aren’t playing that well but their record is a lot better than it should be given their stats.  If Boston plays up to their potential, they could steal on in Montreal.

The Montreal Canadiens took the loss in their last game and it wasn’t pretty.  Against the Tampa Bay Lightening in Tampa Bay, the Canadiens took a 7 -1 beating.   Montreal was down 2 -1 at the end of the 1st period and still had a chance.  But Tampa Bay put their foot on the gas and didn’t let up as they scored 5 unanswered goals in the last 2 periods of regulation. Even though the Canadiens are 3 - 1, they have yet to score on the power play in 14 opportunities including 4 power plays in the Tampa Bay game.  If they don’t capitalize on any man advantages they get against Boston, they will surely add another mark in the loss column.
