The Boston Bruins were able to show the Minnesota Wild why they have the best record in the NHL by beating them handily 4-1 back in a mid-March contest. The Bruins played one of their most disciplined games of the season by not committing any penalties the entire game. Minnesota remained in one of the final two playoff spots, but they continued one of their coldest stretches of the season by losing their fifth in six games.

After neither team was able to score a goal in the first period, Jarome Iginla put the Bruins on the board first off of assists from Matt Bartkowski and Andrej Meszaros. Loui Eriksson doubled Boston's lead midway through the period with his eighth of the season. Jason Pominville was able to cut the lead in half by scoring his 26th off of a pass from Ryan Suter.

In the third period, Reilly Smith was able to score after rebounding a Patrice Bergeron miss, giving the Bruins a 3-2 lead. Jarome Iginla put the Wild away with his second of the game and his 25th of the season.

Bruins defenseman Zdeno Chara finished the game with two assists, while goalie Tuukka Rask had a very solid game in net, saving 33 of the 34 shots that Minnesota took.

Wild netminder Darcy Kuemper had a decent game, making 25 saves and letting three get past him.
