The Boston Bruins may look like the better team on paper and may have the the better record, but the Detroit Red Wings were able to dominate them the last time they faced each other. The Red Wings were able to score six straight goals in that late-November matchup in a game they ended up winning 6-1.

Boston's problem in this game was their inability to get shots on net. They were able to win the faceoff battle and had 11 more hits than the Red Wings, but they only had 17 shots on goal. Some of this was certainly Detroit's defense, but turnovers and wild shots were the main culprits.

Detroit's Justin Abdelkader scored the lone goal of the first period off of a pass from Johan Franzen. In the second period, Tomas Tatar and Henrik Zetterberg scored a goal apiece before Niklas Kronwall made it 4-0 on a power-play tally. Drew Miller and Gustav Nyquist got the Red Wings their fifth and sixth goals respectively in the third period before Jarome Iginla scored to keep Detroit from getting a shutout.

Zetterberg and Kronwall both had a goal and an assist for the hosts, while Franzen added three assists in the win. Red Wings goalie Jonas Gustavsson had 16 saves on the night for a .941 save percentage, while his counterpart Tuukka Rask could only save 22 of the 26 shots he faced.
