Tuesday night, the Arizona Coyotes will take on the Nashville Predators.

The Arizona Coyotes will try to shake off the brutal beating that they suffered in their last game.  In that one, the Coyotes were pushed around all over the ice in the 6 -1 loss to St. Louis Blues.  St. Louis scored early and often against a clearly overmatched Arizona team.  The Blues scored 1 in the 1st, 2 in the 2nd and a goal early in the 3rd before the Coyotes could even get on the board.  And after Lauri Korpikoski scored the power play goal to make it a 4 - 1 game, the Blues added 2 more goals to close out the night.  Arizona gave up 4 power play goals and allowed 11 more shots on goal than they made.  Unfortunately for Arizona, their prospects against their next opponent don’t look too good.

The Nashville Predators have been flying high to start the season but they took a step backwards in their last game.  In their Saturday night contest against the Chicago Blackhawks at the United Center, the Predators fell short in their 2 -1 overtime loss.  After the Blackhawks struck first blood less than 2 minutes into the game, the Predators tied things up midway through the 1st period with a Shea Weber power play goal.  The game stayed 1 -1 the rest of the way until Jonathan Toews broke the tie with a shorthanded goal in overtime.  Nashville didn’t get the shots on goal that they should have and they will certainly improve on that against an Arizona team that gives up a lot of shots on goal and goals as well.
