The Arizona Coyotes will head out on the road to take on the Edmonton Oilers on Tuesday night in a game between two of the worst penalty kills in the NHL.

The Coyotes and the Oilers have already played each other three times this season, with the Coyotes winning all three games. Their most recent game was just last Tuesday, when Arizona pulled off a 2-1 overtime win at home.

Coyote’s right wing Shane Doan has notched 15 goals and 44 assists in his 68 games against the Oilers in his career, while veteran center Antoine Vermette has five goals and 12 assists in his 28 games against them. Netminder Mike Smith has enjoyed facing Edmonton in his career, going 10-1-1 against them with a 2.65 GAA and a .911 save percentage.

Edmonton's struggles continued on Sunday night when they were defeated 6-5 in the shootout by the Dallas Stars at home. They allowed the Stars to score on one of their three power plays in that game while also being outshot 45-29.

Through 34 games, the Oilers are near the bottom of the Western Conference in both scoring and goals allowed per game. Center Ryan Nugent-Hopkins currently leads the team in points with 22 by notching nine goals and 13 assists. Goalie Ben Scrivens has a 5-12-5 record this season with an .893 save percentage and a 3.16 GAA.
