On Monday night, the Arizona Coyotes will be going up against the Edmonton Oilers, who are currently on a nine-game losing skid. Arizona beat the Oilers in their first two games against each other earlier this season.

The Coyotes had their losing streak extended to three games on Saturday night when the Calgary Flames shut them out 3-0. In that loss, Arizona had just one power play opportunity and were outshot 29-26.

So far this season, the Coyotes have only been able to score 2.3 goals per game against their opponents. Their stop offensive player through 24 games has been center Antoine Vermette, who has six goals and 10 assists. Goalie Mike Smith has only won four of his 17 starts and he currently owns a 3.26 GAA with an .898 save percentage.

On Friday, the Oilers' struggles continued as they ended up taking a 4-3 overtime loss to the St. Louis Blues on the road. In that loss, Edmonton didn't have a single power play opportunity and they ended up with just 16 shots on goal.

The Oilers have scored just 2.3 goals per game this season and have scored on just 12 percent of their power play opportunities. Center Ryan Nugent-Hopkins has five goals and 10 assists through 22 games this season, while goalie Ben Scrivens is 4-9-2 with a 3.38 GAA and an .888 save percentage.
