The Arizona Coyotes, who are 4-5-1 on the road so far this season, will be visiting the Dallas Stars on Thursday night. The Coyotes and the Stars played each other just last week in Arizona, with the Stars coming away with a 4-3 win.

The Coyotes had their two-game winning streak come to an end on Tuesday when they lost 2-1 in overtime to the Washington Capitals. They were 0-for-4 on the power play in that loss and they were outhit 41-29.

The Coyotes have only scored 2.5 goals per game this season while giving up 2.5 goals per game. Netminder Mike Smith is 4-9-1 through 14 starts with a 3.31 GAA and an .890 save percentage. Center Antoine Vermette has four goals and nine assists, but he also has a plus/minus of -3.

On Tuesday, the Stars gave up four second-period goals to the Carolina Hurricanes and ended up losing 6-4 at home. The game was close in most areas other than the faceoff dot, where the Hurricanes had a 47-29 advantage.

The Stars have had problems keeping opponents off the scoreboard this season, giving up 3.5 goals per game. Center Jason Spezza has three goals this season and leads the team in assists with 14. Goaltender Kari Lehtonen is 6-5-4 in 16 starts with a shutout, a 3.04 GAA and a .903 save percentage.
