The Anaheim Ducks will be looking to extend their long winning streak when they play the Toronto Maple Leafs on Tuesday night. During the 2013-14 season, the Maple Leafs won both of their games against the Ducks.
On Saturday night, the Ducks won their seventh game in a row when they easily defeated the Winnipeg Jets 4-1 on the road. Center Ryan Getzlaf was solid in that win, scoring one goal and providing an assist on another.
Through their first 32 games, the Ducks have scored 2.8 goals per game while giving up 2.5 goals per game to their opponents. Getzlaf has clearly been their best offensive threat this season by botching 10 goals and a team-high 33 points. Netminder Frederik Andersen has an excellent 17-4-4 record this season with a 2.38 GAA and a .915 save percentage.
On Sunday night, the Maple Leafs won their fifth consecutive game when they defeated the Los Angeles Kings 4-3 in the shootout. Center Mike Santorelli and defenseman Cody Franson were their top two stars in that game, each coming away with a goal and an assist in the win.
So far this season, the Maple Leafs have had one of the best offenses in the Eastern Conference by averaging right around 3.5 goals per game. Right wing Phil Kessel has had a strong start to the season by scoring 15 goals and assisting on 16 others.
