In Game 2 of the Quarterfinal series between the Anaheim Ducks and the Dallas Stars, the Ducks were able to take a commanding 2-0 lead after beating the Stars 3-2 on home ice. This was the second straight close game between the teams, and once again Anaheim's Ryan Getzlaf stepped up in a big way to help his team get the victory.

Getzlaf was hit in the jaw in Game 1 of the series, but he was able to play through the pain on Friday night to contribute a goal and an assist in the win. He wore a face mask during the game, but it didn't seem to hinder him one bit.

The Stars got the first goal of the game when Alex Chiasson scored a power-play tally seven minutes into the first period. Getzlaf got his goal late in the period, though, to tie the game up. The lone goal of the second period came on an unassisted tally by Anaheim's Corey Perry. In the third, Andrew Cogliano received a pass from Getzlaf and scored a shorthanded goal to give the Ducks a 3-1 lead. Ryan Garbutt got one back for the Stars midway through the period, but the Ducks kept them at bay the rest of the game.

Anaheim goalie Frederik Andersen had 34 saves in the win, while Stars netminder Kari Lehtonen had an off game and could only save 16 of the 19 shots he faced.
