The Dallas Stars were able to take a 2-1 series lead over the Anaheim Ducks with a 3-0 home win thanks to great play from their defense and from goalie Kari Lehtonen. The Ducks outshot the Stars 37-22 in the game, but Lehtonen was a man on a mission and was able to shut them out by making great save after great save.

Jamie Benn scored his second goal of the series with about 30 seconds left in the first period right after he was done serving his penalty. The next goal wasn't scored until nearly a full period later when right winger Valeri Nichushkin scored off assists from Tyler Seguin and Colton Sceviour. Ryan Garbutt was able to put the Ducks away with a third period tally that came off assists by Cody Eakin and Antoine Roussel.

It seemed to be the plan of the Stars to frustrate Anaheim's top offensive players in this game. Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry, who scored a combined 74 goals during the regular season, were more involved in fights during the game than putting the puck on net. Getzlaf had just one shot on goal and Perry had three.

Coming off two straight games where his save percentage was under .890, Kari Lehtonen really stepped up for the home team. Many of his saves came during the Ducks' five power play opportunities, and that seemed to help his team grab the momentum.
