NFL Expert Picks Against the Spread: Indianapolis Colts at Kansas City Chiefs
by Alan Matthews - 1/9/2019
Underdogs have been killing it on Wild Card Weekend the past few postseasons, and that continued last week as all four covered and three of them won outright. The only one I predicted to win was Indianapolis, and the Colts were 21-7 victors in Houston. We recommended Andrew Luck & Co. not even on the spread but the moneyline and also under the total, so that was a great result. Try and remember that when I recap my other picks in the other Divisional Round previews.
NFL Divisional Round Playoffs Betting Advice: Moneyline Underdogs
by Trevor Whenham - 1/7/2019
Last week's NFL Wild Card Round was very, very rough on favorites. All four home teams were favored, and three of the four of them lost. The only winning home team, the Cowboys, gave up a back-door cover as the game ended. So, favorites were 1-3 straight up and 0-4 ATS. Yuck. And this week the favorites are again the four home teams.
Expert NFL Betting Picks for Best Props for Seattle Seahawks at Dallas Cowboys
by Chris Vasile - 1/4/2019
The Dallas Cowboys were all but written off after starting their season 3-5. One Amari Cooper trade later, and the Cowboys are NFC East champions and hosting a playoff game for the second time in the last three seasons. The Cowboys got to this spot by winning seven of their last eight games and should have some momentum on their side as they have put up 65 points in their last two wins.
NFL Wild Card Betting Advice: Indianapolis Colts vs Houston Texans Props Predictions
by Chris Vasile - 1/4/2019
This game between the Indianapolis Colts and Houston Texans will be the third meeting of the season between these two AFC South rivals. In the first game (Week 4), the Texans got their first win of the season after the Colts decided to go for it on fourth-and-four from their own 43-yard line in overtime. The gamble didn't pay off, and the Texans got their first of nine straight wins. Their next loss would come in Week 14 against the same Colts team. This time, the Colts got out to a 24-14 lead and held on for the win, which started their current four-game winning streak, which was good enough to get them into the postseason as the No. 6 seed.
NFL Expert Picks Against the Spread: Los Angeles Chargers at Baltimore Ravens
by Alan Matthews - 1/3/2019
So, by Sunday afternoon we could be one step closer to a potential all-Los Angeles Super Bowl matchup and to the Baltimore Ravens trading Coach John Harbaugh. OK, I don't actually think the Chargers will win in Baltimore in the first game Sunday - the Bolts got hosed being put in the only 1 p.m. ET window of wild-card weekend - but it's certainly not out of the question. Both they and the Rams (off this weekend) are good enough to reach the Super Bowl. For an exact matchup, Bovada gives L.A. vs. L.A. a price of +2100.
NFL Expert Picks Against the Spread: Philadelphia Eagles at Chicago Bears
by Alan Matthews - 1/3/2019
There's little argument that former Eagles and current Chiefs head coach Andy Reid is one of the best coaches of his generation in the NFL. In 20 seasons, his regular-season record is a sterling 195-124-1 (.611). "Regular season" being the key term there. Reid has had some issues in the playoffs with an 11-13 record and he reached just one Super Bowl, losing it with the 2004 Eagles.
NFL Expert Picks Against the Spread: Seattle Seahawks at Dallas Cowboys
by Alan Matthews - 1/3/2019
It's probably not breaking news to you that the NFL is a passing league these days. Just five teams attempted fewer than 500 passes this season: Buffalo (499), Arizona (495), Miami (455), Tennessee (437) and Seattle (427). The first four all missed the playoffs. While most NFL playoff games will likely be won by the team that throws for the most yards, it's probable the club that runs for the most yards Saturday night in Dallas wins between the Seahawks and Cowboys.
Wild Card NFL Props Predictions and Betting Odds: Chargers at Ravens
by Chris Vasile - 1/3/2019
I can't be the only one who thinks the NFL playoff format needs a revamp. Take this game, for example, you have a 12-4 team in the Chargers who have to travel across the country for an early start to play a 10-6 Ravens team. I completely understand that the division winners deserve some sort of reprieve for winning their respective divisions, but it's a hard pill to swallow if you are a fan of the Chargers.
NFL Expert Picks Against the Spread: Indianapolis Colts at Houston Texans
by Alan Matthews - 1/2/2019
The NFL playoffs really started on Sunday night in Week 17, and I previewed that matchup between the Colts and Titans in Nashville here at Doc's. Thought Marcus Mariota would gut it out and play for the Titans, but recommended Indy at -2.5 regardless. That was an easy winner as the Colts rolled to a 33-17 victory - Blaine Gabbert LOL! - to grab the final wild-card spot in the AFC. They visit Houston in the first game this weekend on Saturday afternoon.

Basic Strategy Teasers: Best Week 17 NFL Betting Options
by Chris Vasile - 12/27/2018
Week 17 of the National Football League is upon us, and we should be in for quite a treat. There are plenty of playoff-clinching scenarios still left up in the air. And with a full slate of games on Sunday, you better have your multi-tv, picture-in-picture, or streaming services ready to go to maximize the experience. The biggest game of the week from a division standpoint goes off in the Sunday night game as the Indianapolis Colts travel to Nashville for a date with the Tennessee Titans. The winner of this matchup gets the final wild-card spot and a game against either the Ravens or the Steelers.
NFL Expert Picks Against the Spread: Indianapolis Colts at Tennessee Titans
by Alan Matthews - 12/26/2018
The NFL doesn't pre-schedule a Sunday night game in Week 17 so NBC has the possibility of a theoretical winner-take-all matchup in terms of a postseason berth. It's obviously impossible to speculate on that when the schedule is made in April.
NFL Expert Picks Against the Spread: Chicago Bears at Minnesota Vikings
by Alan Matthews - 12/25/2018
There are only two games in Week 17 that have playoff ramifications for both clubs. One is Colts at Titans, which has been flexed into the Sunday night slot and which I will preview later this week here at Doc's. The other is Bears at Vikings … although one could argue the Bears have motivation to not play their starters. It's just a matter of potentially whom the Bears might prefer to face on Wild-Card Weekend at Soldier Field.
