2015 Washington Redskins Opponents and Schedule Highlights
by Guy Bruhn - 2/13/2015
Many thought that the Washington Redskins would improve in 2014 because Robert Griffin III was coming into the season healthy and they had a new coach in Jay Gruden, but they were pretty much just as bad as they were in 2013. They won just four games on the season, thanks in large part to their poor 1-7 road record.
Most people expect the Redskins to finish near the bottom of the NFC East again despite not having a very tough schedule.
Home : Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants, Philadelphia Eagles, New Orleans Saints, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, St. Louis Rams, Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins
Away : Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants, Philadelphia Eagles, Atlanta Falcons, Carolina Panthers, Chicago Bears, New England Patriots, New York Jets
Here are three of the matchups to keep an eye on:
Dallas Cowboys: Washington simply has to beat Dallas to have a chance of moving up in the NFC East. One of their four wins was against the Cowboys last season, but they were routed 44-17 in their final game of the year. They will need to fix their issues against the pass if they want to stop Tony Romo and the solid Dallas offense.
New York Giants: The Giants are still considered the Redskins' biggest rivals, but New York has swept the series two years in a row. This will be an interesting matchup to watch in 2015 because both teams will be trying to get over their poor seasons and move up in the division.
New England Patriots: This is probably Washington's toughest road game of the season, so if they can pull off an upset, it could go a long way towards helping them finish with a winning record. That is a tall order, though, considering the Patriots were better than the Redskins in just about every category in 2014.
