2015 San Francisco 49ers Opponents and Schedule Highlights
by Tony Sink - 2/13/2015
The San Francisco 49ers won't be happy that they went 2-4 in their NFC West games last season, and they certainly won't be happy about going 4-4 on their home field. They were solid in most statistical categories last year, but they threw for just 191.4 yards per game, which was third-to-last in the NFL.
The 49ers are in the most talented division in the NFL, so it's no surprise that they have a very tough schedule coming up in 2015.
Home: Arizona Cardinals, St. Louis Rams, Seattle Seahawks, Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Vikings, Atlanta Falcons, Baltimore Ravens, Cincinnati Bengals
Away: Arizona Cardinals, St. Louis Rams, Seattle Seahawks, Chicago Bears, Detroit Lions, New York Giants, Cleveland Browns, Pittsburgh Steelers
Here are three of the matchups to keep an eye on:
Green Bay Packers: For a long time, this was a matchup that the 49ers hated to see on their schedule. However, after beating the Packers four times in a row dating back to 2012, they should have a lot more confidence going into this game. If they want to get back to the postseason, they will need to beat tough teams like this one at home.
Seattle Seahawks: The 49ers will probably be looking forward to these games with revenge in mind seeing as their two losses to the Seahawks were big reasons why they didn't make the playoffs last season. For the neutral fan who loves defensive battles, this will be an intriguing series, as both the Seahawks and the 49ers had top five defenses in 2014.
Cincinnati Bengals: If the 49ers want to fix their home woes of a season ago, they will need to pick it up and beat the tougher teams coming into their house in 2015. It is always fun to watch teams that haven't seen each other in a while, and the Bengals and the 49ers haven't squared off since 2011.
