2015 Philadelphia Eagles Opponents and Schedule Highlights
by Tony Sink - 2/13/2015
The Philadelphia Eagles had a good season going in 2014 until they lost three of their final four games, which kept them out of the playoffs despite finishing 10-6. They had one of the more exciting offenses in the NFL, but their defense was horrible against the pass and just average against the run.
Chip Kelly and the Eagles are going into the 2015 season hoping to stay healthier than they did last year so they can take advantage of being in the weak NFC East.
Home: Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants, Washington Redskins, New Orleans Saints, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Arizona Cardinals, Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins
Away: Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants, Washington Redskins, Atlanta Falcons, Carolina Panthers, Detroit Lions, New England Patriots, New York Jets
Here are three of the matchups to keep an eye on:
Dallas Cowboys: Most people are expecting the NFC East to be a battle between the Eagles and the Cowboys, so this is probably the most important matchup on Philadelphia's schedule. Both teams have very good offenses and they have split their series the last two seasons. If one team can sweep the two games, chances are they will win the division.
New York Giants: The Giants are expected to be a bit better than they were in 2014, so the Eagles should not expect to sweep the series against them again. The recent trend in this series is that both teams pick up one win, so it is certainly a matchup to watch every time the Giants and Eagles take the field.
Arizona Cardinals: This was one of the best matchups of the 2014 season - the Cardinals won 24-20 in Arizona - and both teams are expected to be just as solid this season. This is one of the toughest teams on the Eagles' schedule, so getting the win would definitely help their chances of reaching the postseason.
