2015 New York Jets Opponents and Schedule Highlights
by Josh Schonwald - 2/15/2015
The New York Jets came into the 2014 season with some optimism after finishing with a .500 record two years ago, but their poor passing game and turnover issues led to a very poor year. Their defense is pretty good, though, so they have a minor chance of surprising people this season if they can move their offense up near the middle of the pack.
The Jets don't have a very tough schedule on paper this season, but they face a lot of good defenses, which could lead to another bad year for them.
Home: Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins, New England Patriots, Jacksonville Jaguars, Tennessee Titans, Cleveland Browns, Philadelphia Eagles, Washington Redskins
Away: Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins, New England Patriots, Houston Texans, Indianapolis Colts, Oakland Raiders, Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants
Here are three of the matchups to keep an eye on:
Miami Dolphins: The Jets have very little chance of finishing ahead of the New England Patriots in 2015, but they could leapfrog the Dolphins if things go right for them. This has been one of the more closely battled series in the league for a while now, with the two teams splitting their two games against each other for the last five years.
Jacksonville Jaguars: The Jags were just as bad as the Jets were in 2014, so this will be a game to watch simply to see which team has made the most improvements. The Jets have won two games in a row over Jacksonville, but they haven't faced them since 2012.
Indianapolis Colts: This is one of the toughest road games on the Jets' schedule this season, so they will be heavy underdogs. If they want any chance of making it to the playoffs, they are going to have to come up with a surprise win or two, and their defense has the ability to shut down good offenses like the one the Colts have.
