2015 Jacksonville Jaguars Opponents and Schedule Highlights
by Guy Bruhn - 2/17/2015
The Jacksonville Jaguars' struggles continued in 2014 as they finished with a 3-13 record and missed the playoffs for the seventh straight year. They did have the excuse of having a very young team, though, and they were able to develop quarterback Blake Bortles and wide receiver Marquise Lee. They could be decent in three or four years, but right now they are just too poor on both sides of the ball to magically turn it around in one season.
The Jaguars' 2014 opponents were a combined 118-137-1 last season, so they have a chance of improving by a couple of wins this year.
Home: Houston Texans, Indianapolis Colts, Tennessee Titans, Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins, San Diego Chargers, Atlanta Falcons, Carolina Panthers
Away: Houston Texans, Indianapolis Colts, Tennessee Titans, New England Patriots, New York Jets, Baltimore Ravens, New Orleans Saints, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Here are three of the matchups to keep an eye on:
Tennessee Titans: The Jags will not be wanting to move back to the bottom of the AFC South, so they will need to take care of the Titans this season. Even though these are currently two of the worst teams in the league, their games are usually really close, which makes them watchable.
Houston Texans: The Jaguars have struggled against the Texans over the last five years, winning just two of the six games in the series. Picking up at least one win against Houston will go a long way towards keeping the Jags above the Titans in the division standings.
New Orleans Saints: The Saints certainly have the better offense in this matchup, but their defense was pretty bad last year, so any team that faces them will have a chance. If the Jags fix some of their offensive issues, this could end up being a huge road win for them.
