2015 Indianapolis Colts Opponents and Schedule Highlights
by Guy Bruhn - 2/14/2015
Let’s take a look at the Indianapolis Colts 2015 opponents and schedule highlights. The NFL will release schedule dates and games times later in April, but we do know who the Colts will have to play.
The Indianapolis Colts were able to make it to the postseason for the fourth consecutive year in 2014 thanks to a 6-2 home record and an excellent 6-0 record against AFC North competition. Unfortunately for them, most people will remember their season for the 45-7 thumping they took in the AFC Championship game at the hands of the New England Patriots.
Home: Houston Texans, Jacksonville Jaguars, Tennessee Titans, New England Patriots, New York Jets, Denver Broncos, New Orleans Saints, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Away: Houston Texans, Jacksonville Jaguars, Tennessee Titans, Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins, Pittsburgh Steelers, Atlanta Falcons, Carolina Panthers
The Colts' 2015 opponents were a combined 106-149-1 last year, which gives them one of the easiest strengths of schedule coming into the season. Here are three of the matchups to keep an eye on:
Houston Texans: The Texans are seen as the one team in the AFC North that has a chance of knocking the Colts off of their perch, so these games are key for both teams. The Colts may have swept the series last year, but both games were decided by seven points or less.
New England Patriots: Peyton Manning may be gone, but the Patriots are still considered one of the Colts' top rivals because of the two teams' similar styles. Both have a pass-first offense, which usually leads to one of the more entertaining games each season. This is also the toughest home matchup of the season for the Colts on paper.
Pittsburgh Steelers: The Steelers have given the Colts fits over the years, including a 51-34 thrashing last season. If the Colts want to be seen as more than a team that just beats up on a terrible division, they need to win games like this.
