Arrowhead Stadium will be the home to a week 1 matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Tennessee Titans. This will be the second full season that the Chiefs will be led by Andy Reid as coach and the first season for Ken Whisenhunt as the coach for the Titans. Whisenhunt previously was the head coach for the Arizona Cardinals from 2007-12.

A year ago, the Titans finished in second place in the American Football Conference South division behind the Indianapolis Colts. The team will once again be led on the field by 2011 first round NFL Draft pick, Jake Locker. Locker, who played his college ball at the University of Washington, has not turned into the star player the team was hoping to get with the No. 8 pick. He has gone just 8-10 as a starter and has only played in 23 games during his three years in the league. In addition to Locker, the team will be led offensively by running back Shonn Greene, wide receivers Nate Washington and Kendall Wright.

For the Chiefs, 2013 was a good year. With Alex Smith at the helm as quarterback, the team went 11-5, finishing in second place in the AFC West behind the Denver Broncos, and earned the No. 5 seed in the playoffs. After working hard throughout the season to reach the playoffs, the team was unceremoniously knocked out 45-44 in dramatic fashion in the opening round. That loss will surely leave the team and especially its biggest stars, with a bad taste in their mouth that they will not want to forget. Among those players that will be hoping for a better outcome in 2014 include Jamaal Charles and Dwayne Bowe. Bowe will miss this week 1 game against the Titans due to violating the NFLs Substance Abuse Policy, but will return in week 2.
