The Tennessee Titans will try to improve upon their 7-9 2013 campaign when they visit the Kansas City Chiefs, who had a surprisingly solid 11-5 record last season.
The Tennessee Titans finished in the bottom half of the league in offensive yards last year and barely cracked the top 15 in yards allowed. They will be hoping that quarterback Jake Locker can stay healthy this year after being out of almost half of their games over the last two seasons due to multiple injuries.
Over the offseason, the Titans added new head coach Ken Whisenhunt, who many think will greatly help their offense in 2014. They also added wide receiver Dexter McCluster and right tackle Michael Oher, but they lost top cornerback Alterraun Verner, who joined the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Draft picks Taylor Lewan and Bishop Sankey should help their offense.
Last season, the Kansas City Chiefs lost by one point to the Indianapolis Colts in the first round of the playoffs after winning 11 games during the regular season. They started the season by winning their first nine games thanks in large part to a solid rushing game, which was led by running back Jamaal Charles.
The Chiefs lost offensive tackle Branden Albert over the offseason and weren't able to sign any significant free agents. They didn't have the best draft, either, but third round pick Philip Gaines is expected to become a good NFL cornerback in the future.
