Sunday afternoon, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will journey to Ford Field to take on the Detroit Lions. 

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers nearly pulled off a huge upset in their last game but they fell to the Cincinnati Bengals 14 -13.  Tampa Bay played like a team at the bottom of the standings and they played sloppily and committed 13 penalties including one that eventually cost them the game. When you have only won 2 games on the season, mistakes and miscues are usually the reason.  Fortunately for the Bucs, the Bengals made mistakes too and gave Tampa Bay a chance. But the Bucs couldn’t overcome their own ineptitude.  At this point, Tampa Bay is playing for pride but that won’t be enough against a Detroit team chasing a playoff spot.

The Detroit Lions made a Thanksgiving feast of the Chicago Bears as they ran over them 34 -17 in their last game. Despite the fact that Chicago jumped out to a 14 - 3 1st quarter lead, the Lions answered with 21 2nd quarter points to regain control at the half.  The 2nd half was all Detroit and it gave them a win that put them slightly ahead of the Dallas Cowboys for the 6th and final playoff spot. Detroit can’t afford any mistakes the rest of the way as that 6th spot will be tough to hold onto in the last few weeks of the season.  Although the Buccaneers came close to an upset last week, the only way that they will stay close in this one is if the Lions allow them to.
