The St. Louis Rams (2-5) will go on the road on Sunday afternoon to face the tough defense of the San Francisco 49ers (4-3). The 49ers were able to beat the Rams 31-17 on the road in their Week 5 matchup.

Against the Kansas City Chiefs last Sunday, the Rams scored the first touchdown of the game, but those were all of the points they would get as they ended up losing 34-7. They gained a total of 200 yards in that loss, which included just 116 yards through the air.

The Rams have scored just 19.4 points per game this season while their defense has given up 30 points per game. Quarterback Austin Davis has a 92.3 passer rating this season by throwing for 1,680 yards with 10 touchdowns and five interceptions. Davis' top target has been Brian Quick, who has 25 receptions for 375 yards and a team-leading three touchdowns.

In their last game, the 49ers had their three-game winning streak snapped when they were blown out 42-17 by the Denver Broncos on the road. Their defense gave up 419 yards in that loss and they were unable to force any turnovers.

Through seven games, the 49ers have only given up 306 yards per game, which is second-best in the league. Quarterback Colin Kaepernick has completed 63.8 percent of his passes this season for 1,719 yards, 11 touchdowns and five interceptions. Wide receiver Michael Crabtree has caught 32 passes for 322 yards and three scores.
