Sunday afternoon, the Seattle Seahawks will face the St. Louis Rams.

The Super Bowl Champion Seattle Seahawks haven’t looked that super this season.  They lost last Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys in a game where they seemed out of sorts.  After leading 10 – 0 in the beginning, Seattle couldn’t seem to stop the Cowboys.  Even as Seattle kept pace with Dallas, the Cowboys managed to hang around.  And as the game went on, the Seattle offense sputtered and the Dallas offense didn’t.   While the running game has been solid for Seattle, the passing game has been lackluster.  But Seattle is still 3 – 2 and doing better than most teams.  And they are certainly better than their next opponents – the St. Louis Rams.

The St. Louis Rams have had their struggles this season and their last game on Monday night was no exception.  Even though they were playing a San Francisco 49ers team that hadn’t been displaying their best, the Rams weren’t expected to make it an interesting game.  But they did after sprinting out to an improbable 14 -0 lead in the 1st quarter.  24 unanswered 49er points later and the Rams were basically out of it.   Giving up the lead is never a good thing and it never ends well.  For the Rams to have any chance against a Seahawks team bent on silencing the critics, St. Louis will need to put together a complete game.  That means getting the lead and holding on to it.  That’s a lot easier than it sounds.
