Sunday afternoon, the Seattle Seahawks will travel to Lincoln Financial Field to face the Philadelphia Eagles.

The Seattle Seahawks will come into this one still looking to prove to the rest of the NFL that they are still legitimate contenders for another Super Bowl title.  Although they beat the San Francisco 49ers 19 -3 on Thanksgiving night, it was not an overly convincing win.  The defense played well but the offense still looks like it is a little off.  They left points on the field by settling for field goals instead of getting touchdowns and that could hurt them in the playoffs.  They will get a test in Philadelphia as they play the Eagles in a possible playoff preview.  How the Seahawks handle the Eagles will settle many arguments about whether the Seahawks are truly ready to contend for another Super Bowl or are they just another champion that can’t repeat.

The Philadelphia Eagles went to Dallas on Thanksgiving and had the Cowboys for dinner as they beat them 33 – 10.  The Eagles took control of the NFC East and served notice that they were ready to take on all comers the rest of the way en route to the Super Bowl title that is firmly in their sights.  Philadelphia has even said that they will not shy away from Seattle cornerback Richard Sherman.  Other teams have tried that but it hasn’t been successful.  But if the Eagles are ready to ascend to the top of the NFC, they will not only need to beat the Seahawks, they will need to do it in convincing fashion.  A big win might scare their final 3 opponents, who are all division rivals.
