The San Francisco 49ers (3-2) will try to go for their third win in a row when they go up against the St. Louis Rams (1-3) on Monday night. The 49ers were able to beat the Rams in both of their games last season.

The 49ers used five Phil Dawson field goals to beat the Kansas City Chiefs 22-17 at home on Sunday afternoon. San Francisco's defense held the Chiefs to just 265 yards in that game and their offense was able to rush for 171 yards.

San Francisco's defense has only given up 73.8 rushing yards per game and 209 passing yards per game. Quarterback Colin Kaepernick has a 91.3 passer rating right now after throwing for 1,113 yards and seven touchdowns through the 49ers' first five games. Veteran running back Frank Gore has rushed for 365 yards this season with one touchdown run while also catching one touchdown pass.

On Sunday, the Rams lost their second game in a row when they were defeated 34-28 by the Philadelphia Eagles. They did have 466 yards of offense in that game, but they also lost three fumbles.

One thing that the Rams are doing well this season is stopping the pass, but they are one of the worst in the league at stopping the run. Quarterback Austin Davis has been one of the biggest surprises this season by throwing for 264.8 yards per game with six touchdowns and three interceptions. Wide receiver Brian Quick leads the Rams win 21 receptions, 322 yards and three touchdowns.
