Sunday afternoon, the San Francisco 49ers will take the field at CenturyLink Field as they face the Seattle Seahawks.

The San Francisco 49ers look like a team that is falling apart at the worst possible time in the season. Last week, they fell to the lowly Oakland Raiders 24 – 13 in a game that no one expected them to lose.  At the half it was a 10 – 10 game and the Raiders began to believe that they could get only their 2nd victory of the season.  The 49ers went up 13 -10 in the 3rd quarter but the Raiders scored 14 unanswered points to end the game and any playoff hopes that the 49ers might have entertained.   Any team that takes a loss like that will certainly look for redemption in their next game and the 49ers will have to get redemption against one of their familiar and hated foes.

The Seattle Seahawks found a measure of redemption themselves as they got their 3rd straight win last week by defeating the Philadelphia Eagles 24 – 14.  The Eagles were supposed to be one of the better teams in the NFL and their high powered offense was supposed to be unstoppable.  But Seattle’s defense did a great job of shutting down the Eagle offense.  And when Seattle had the ball, they took large chunks of time off the clock and had the Eagle defense winded.  The “Legion of Boom” defense will definitely have their claws out for a San Francisco team that Seattle seems to save their best effort for.  With Seattle’s playoff spot not exactly set in stone, they need a win on Sunday and would definitely like it against the 49ers.
