Sunday afternoon, the San Francisco 49ers will travel to MetLife Stadium to take on the New York Giants.

The San Francisco 49ers let a big lead slip away in their last game against the New Orleans Saints but they regained control and left New Orleans with a 27 - 24 win. The 49ers jumped out to a 14 - 3 lead in the 1^st quarter and after New Orleans added a touchdown to cut the lead to 4, the 49ers regained the 11 point advantage going into the half. San Francisco allowed New Orleans to add touchdowns in the 3^rd and 4^th quarters and if not for a 45 yard Phil Dawson field goal, the game wouldn't have gone to overtime. Dawson sealed the victory with a 35 yard field goal in overtime and ended the Saints' home win streak. The 49ers might not get much resistance from a New York Giants team that seems like it is falling apart each week they play.

The New York Giants had an opportunity to beat the defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks in their last game but they became their greatest enemy in the 38 - 17 loss. On a typically rainy day in Seattle, the Giants played two dramatically different halves of football. They looked solid in the 1 ^st half but in the 2^nd half, they looked like they had never played professional football before. The Seahawks didn't look that great either but they got a franchise record 350 yards on the ground and scored three 4^th quarter touchdowns to pull away from the Giants. New York looks like a team that has given up and that won't help them as they face a San Francisco team that still wants to make a playoff run.
